Restoration-posterThe Historic Chapels Trust’s campaign to restore Bethesda Methodist Chapel was highlighted in the 2003 BBC2 Restoration series. The proposal to restore Bethesda was popular with viewers and won the West Midlands round of the series and came a very respectable fourth in the national finals.

Since then the Historic Chapels Trust’s proposals have drawn immense support from the local community, local politicians and news media.

How can you help?

Local Friends Group

Our local Friends Group do appreciate help and support. Now that the first phase is complete, there are opportunities to help organise Open Days. The Friends are also helping to generate local publicity and are organising fundraising events etc. We very much welcome   new volunteers – do please just come along to a meeting if you'd like to help, or e-mail our Secretary.

We meet every fourth Thursday of the month at 6.35pm at the Civic Centre (in Stoke Town Hall), Stoke-on-Trent, usually in Committee Room C. (There's no charge for parking a car after 6.30, hence the precise starting time!). The dates for 2011 will be published shortly.

Whilst the phase II buildings works are underway it will not be possible to arrange viewing for groups of visitors, but visits will be possible from Spring 2011.

Memories corner

We are keen to put together a collection of people’s memories of the Chapel in our Memories corner section of the website. Please email our Memories Co-ordinator.

Photographs

We are also eager to put together a collection of historic photographs of the Chapel. If you can lend or donate a picture, please send it to the Director at the address above.
